Modern History General
This course will enable students to become critical thinkers and help to inform their judgments and actions in a rapidly changing world. Students will be given the opportunity to work with a variety of historical sources, including government papers, extracts for newspapers, letters, diaries, photographs, cartoons, painting, graphs and secondary sources. This will enable students to determine the cause and effect, and the motives and forces influencing people and events. Through the process of historical inquiry, students will be encouraged to question and evaluate historical sources; identify various representations and version of history; use evidence to formulate and support interpretations; and communicate findings in a variety of ways.
